SM4 is warrantied only for corrupted SM4 files during the initial installation process. The above is a limited warranty and it is the only warranty made by Abelson Communications, Inc. Abelson Communications, Inc. makes and buyer receives no other warranty express or implied and there is expressly excluded all warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Abelson Communications, Inc. shall have no liability with respect to its obligations under this agreement for consequential, exemplary or incidental damages even if it has been advised of the possibility of such damages. The stated express warranty is in lieu of all liabilities or obligations of Abelson Communications, Inc. for damages arising out of or in connection with the delivery, use, or performance of the software.

Installation

For the SM4 Server:

Install SM4 server to any Windows 98, NT, XP, 2000, Windows Server - from the SM4 server.
For Novell, install to the server from a workstation.

Map a drive letter to the SM4 root folder.

For the Workstations:

All Windows Versions:

Login as THE administrator (not as a user with administrator level access) :

Create an icon for SM4 pointing to the mapped drive. There is an sm4.ico file if you need to use it for the icon.

From the \sm4\crdll folder run the setup.exe to install the Crystal® dll files.

That is all.

Should the Reports still give errors, you must manually register one .dll file. Again, logged in as an administrator:

For 32 Bit Windows OS:

  1. click on Start
  2. click on Run
  3. Enter regsvr32 cpeaut32.dll and click okay.

If the registration is successful that will fix the report problems.

For 64 Bit Windows OS and sometimes Windows 7 32 Bit:

Make sure a copy of cpeaut32.dll is in the c:\windows\sysWOW64 folder.
If it is not there copy cpeaut32.dl_ from \sm4\crdll folder to the above. Rename the file to cpeaut32.dll

Click on Start, click on Run (or type Run is search bar and click on it at top of list), type in CMD and press <enter> key.
This should bring you to a black and white command prompt at c:\users\yourname.
Type cd \windows\syswow64 and press the enter key.
Type regsvr32 cpeaut32.dll and press the enter key.

If the registration is successful that will fix the report problems.
